50th Anniversary

We're celebrating our 50^th year as King of Glory Lutheran Church. Our theme, "Leading with Spirit!" commemorates all the varied activities in which the disciples of this church have been engaged for nearly half a century. The 50^th Anniversary Committee is planning many ways to celebrate this milestone over the next 12 months.

Put some GLORY in your holiday list! The King’s Table, King of Glory’s 50th Anniversary cookbook, is always in good taste. It’s the perfect hostess gift, and it’s specially priced for Christmas giving:

The King’s Table features 1,000 time-honored recipes, indexed by both title and contributor. The handsome volume also contains a brief history of King of Glory’s first 50 years, photos of all the pastors and associates who have so ably served the congregation, and table prayers for all occasions.

Between now and Christmas, The King’s Table will be on sale every Sunday in the Atrium at these special prices. The books are gift-wrapped and ready to give. Proceeds help underwrite events from our 50th Anniversary year.

The 50th Anniversary pictorial directory is expected to arrive in early December. It will be distributed in the Atrium after Sunday services. All members whose photos are included will receive one free directory. Those whose photos are not included or who would like an additional copy can purchase a directory for $10.

Join in the spirit by wearing our 50th Anniversary’s logo, “Leading with Spirit.” Purchase your 50th Anniversary shirts and caps. They are available in purple and white. Proceeds from these sales will help defray expenses for our 50th Anniversary events. Allow two week for delivery.

Archive Project

As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration a formal project has been started to create a permanent King of Glory Archive. It is so important to protect our church records and memorabilia now and in the future. Therefore, we are reaching out to our members to determine what type of materials are in their possession. We’re seeking things you may have such as video tapes and DVDs; photographs (including digital) and slides; audio recordings (tapes and CDs); newspaper and other publication clippings; important brochures and event programs; scrapbooks; documentation, e.g. committee files, reports, meeting notes; framed certificates; trophies; and the many other items that are part of our history. Please contact Sandra Brenden to lend your assistance in this project—it will be appreciated!
