50th Anniversary Logo and Theme
Our 50th Anniversary logo and theme were recently introduced to the congregation and we owe a big thanks to Mark Sullivan for the design and Bill Meeder for the theme.
As Mark tells it, he had some spare time one afternoon last summer and, led by the Holy Spirit, started sketching out the logo. The design elements (color, crown, circle) are each representative of King of Glory’s history and rich Christian tradition.
The theme, “Leading with Spirit!,” continues on the very successful “Building with Spirit!” and “Growing with Spirit!” capital campaigns which were certainly examples of King of Glory’s leadership and faith—guided by the Holy Spirit.
Bill shared his thoughts about conceptualizing the theme:
- Starting with 53 founding members in a small building, the congregation had the leadership to envision a new, more visible location.
- With growing membership, the church expanded into a new, large sanctuary, which required prayer and leadership to accomplish.
- King of Glory became a leader in the synod and one of the largest Lutheran churches in Texas.
- King of Glory has been a leader in synod benevolence for decades.
- The congregation continues to exhibit leadership in giving through Church in Society and outreach with our “In the City for Good” program.
