Stepping Stones of Faith.

Stepping Stones of Faith. These are times when a child "steps" from one developmental stage to the next. As they step forward physically, mentally, emotionally, and educationally, our goal is that they step forward spiritually as well.

Each Faith Stepping Stone includes four elements:

  1. Naming - we identify and recognize the event to give it holy significance.
  2. Equipping - adults and children (as they are able) learn stories, skills, and habits that encourage growth in faith appropriate to the event.
  3. Celebrating - in worship, community and home through liturgy and time together, the congregation recognizes that the child's new faith stage.
  4. Gifting - the child receives a tangible symbol of the event as a reminder of its holy significance.
