The King of Glory Lutheran Church Foundation was established in 2008 to provide long term financial support to King of Glory ministries as we fulfill our mission to be and to make growing disciples. The Foundation is a structure to administer and support planned gifts from King of Glory members. Planned gifts are typically given through memorials and by remembering King of Glory in your will or estate plan. It makes no difference what size your "estate" is. Some people designate a few hundred dollars, others much more than that. Planned giving typically involves utilizing assets at the end of our lives when we no longer have use for them, rather than impacting an income stream during our lifetime.
Gifts to the Foundation are not used to support daily church operations. They are used to expand King of Glory's ministries. The Foundation is supporting three ministries during 2010 by providing:
- Seed money for a Community Development Fund for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone.
- A scholarship at Luther Seminary.
- Funds to support King of Glory's Impact Sunday—an initiative that will touch the lives of thousands of Metroplex residents this fall.
What is the King of Glory Lutheran Church Foundation?
Through the gifts of many, the King of Glory Lutheran Church Foundation can provide vital financial support to the ministries of King of Glory Lutheran Church. Established with the King of Glory Lutheran Church Endowment Fund and a memorial fund in 2008, the Foundation provides energy and financial resources to King of Glory Lutheran Church as it lives out its mission to celebrate, discover, and share the love of Christ in the community, city, and world beyond.
The Foundation is an independent, non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Trustees who are members of King of Glory Lutheran Church. Working collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and leadership of the Church, the Foundation’s purpose is to receive gifts, to hold the principal of such gifts in perpetuity, and to give the value increase of these gifts to the Church or to fund special projects as identified by the donor.
Currently, through gifts and investment growth, the Foundation’s assets support the overall mission and benevolence goals of the Church. Through the direction of the Board of Trustees, Foundation funds are professionally managed by the Investments Committee who are members of the Church.
