A Conversation with Diane Covert: Lutheran World Relief

GUSTO! – March Gathering
Monday, March 9 | 11:30 AM
Join us for our March GUSTO! meeting as we welcome Diane Covert, who will share an inspiring update from Lutheran World Relief.
Through stories and real-world impact, Diane will highlight current projects serving communities in South Sudan, Congo, Nepal, and Sierra Leone.
Lutheran World Relief works alongside global partners to address hunger, poverty, injustice, and climate resilience.
This presentation will offer a powerful glimpse into how our broader Lutheran family is making a difference around the world — and how faith in action transforms lives.
Diane Covert brings more than 20 years of fundraising experience, primarily for programs helping children in Texas, to her work as a donor advisor at Lutheran World Relief. Having joined LWR in 2024, she feels blessed to use her skills to uplift the lives of her neighbors all around the globe.
Diane is especially inspired by LWR’s empowering and holistic approach to livelihoods, because these programs equip people and communities with the skills they need to sustain themselves. She notes, “We’re not just providing food; we’re cultivating lasting change.”
She hopes that in working with her, donors will feel a true sense of ownership in the programs they support and know they are making a meaningful and enduring difference in the world.
Diane lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and her kitty named Salem, and she enjoys having her adult children nearby. Her hobbies include gardening, scuba diving and group Bible study.
