What We Believe

Our Mission

The mission of King of Glory is to boldly share the grace of God with the world.

Our Values

We live out three Grace-driven values and invite all to experience the joy of being  GROUNDED in love, GROWING in faith, and GENEROUS in service and giving.

The Bible

At King of Glory (ELCA), we believe that the Bible is the written Word of God. The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God's Spirit, speaking through their authors, to record and announce God's revelation centering in Jesus Christ.

The Sacraments

We practice two sacraments, Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe that baptism is a visible sign of God’s grace and a reassurance that we belong to God and are marked with the cross of Christ forever. That cross reminds us we are born into Christ and will die in Christ to a life of eternal resurrection.

Holy Communion is another visible means of receiving God’s grace. As we bless the bread and wine we believe that Christ becomes truly present in those elements and the meal empowers us to carry out our discipleship knowing that Christ is in us. Our communion table is open to all.

Our Community

In response to the overwhelming love of God, we stand in awe of God’s vast mercy.  King of Glory Lutheran Church proclaims that the Gospel is God’s gift to all people, to be shared unconditionally.

As followers of Christ, the members of King of Glory seek reconciliation and wholeness in a world that is often an unloving place.

In faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, mindful of our Lutheran emphasis on grace, we are a Reconciling in Christ church and welcome all without regard to race or culture, physical or mental health, imprisonment, sexual orientation, gender identity, family status, addictions, socio-economic circumstances, or anything that so often divides us.

Our unity is in Christ.

Therefore, rejoicing in God’s abundant love and grace, we extend a special welcome to all.
