NORTH DALLAS SHARED MINISTRIES

Location:  Meet at NDSM, 2875 Merrell Rd, Dallas, 75229

Volunteers will tour the facilities at North Dallas Shared Ministries (NDSM) located in North Dallas and then assist with various tasks in the Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. 

Donations: Toiletries and personal hygiene products; Nonperishable food; Winter coats and clothes (all sizes).

TEXAS RAMP PROJECT - DALLAS RAMPS

Project Leader:  Gary Stopani,  
Time:  8:30 am, Sunday, November 12
Participants:  20 Max                              Ages:  16+
Location:  Meet at ramp building location(s); Address(es) to be provided

Volunteers will have the opportunity to provide freedom to home­bound residents by building and installing ramps in various loca­tions in the Dallas area. The necessary materials will need to be ordered in advance, so please register up by November 7, 2023. More information about the project and additional volunteer opportunities can be found on their website.

NICU BLANKETS

Time:  8:30 am - 10:00 am, Sunday, November 12
Participants:  16 Max                             Ages: 9+
Location:  King of Glory, Room LL17

Volunteers will craft flannel receiving blankets for the infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Parkland Hospital. Tasks include measuring, cutting, pressing, and sewing. Please bring irons, ironing boards, white cotton thread, sewing shears, and sewing machines.

FAMILY MINISTRY - HELP THE UNHOUSED

Time:  9:00 am - 10:00 am, Sunday, November 12
Participants:  No Max                Ages:  All Ages
Location:  King of Glory Activity Center

Volunteers will make cards of encouragement, decorate bags, and assemble care packages with much needed items for unhoused people in our community. Following worship, the bags will be moved to the Atrium for members to take with them and distribute. No registration necessary! 

Donations:  Monetary donation to help purchase essential items for care packages.

FIREFIGHTERS & POLICE OFFICERS THANK YOU

Location:  King of Glory Activity Center; Deliver to various Dallas Fire/Police Stations. Address(es) to be provided

Volunteers will assemble goody bags of pre-packaged snacks. After the bags are assembled, we will need volunteers to deliver the bags to Dallas fire stations and our local police station to show our appreciation for their service to the community.

IN THE CITY FOR GOOD

Volunteers will assemble hygiene packs that will be distributed by In the City for Good to the South Dallas community. There are also weekly opportunities throughout the year to assist with delivery and distribution.

DOBIE PRE-K COATS, SHOES, AND WINTER GEAR

There is a desperate need for winter gear - Let’s help the school care for preschoolers in need by providing new shoes and coats before the “real” cold Texas weather arrives!

How to help:

  1. Buy a coat and bring to the Atrium. Sizes 3T - 7
  2. Buy mittens or winter hats (size small for 3 and 4 year olds) and bring to the Atrium.
  3. Donate online HERE.
  4. Write a check, put Dobie Shoes or Dobie coats in the memo line, and leave it in the offering plate.
  5. Find Rainey Smith on any Sunday and I will take your cash or check and answer any questions you may have
