    Young Adult Ministries Coordinator

    Position: This full-time position with King of Glory Lutheran Church is for an individual with a dynamic personality with a desire to grow our Young Adult community.  This Coordinator would become active in the leadership and evangelizing to connect with young adults on a social and spiritual level to become regular participants in the King of Glory Community.  This position provides an exciting opportunity to be on the “ground floor” for creating a place for young adults (post-high school to mid-’30s) to connect with God and one another.

    General Responsibilities: The Young Adult Ministries Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining the Young Adult ministry, including but not limited to, with adults 18-35-years-old, including an emphasis on those who are not yet regular participants in the KOG community.

    Objectives and Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with our active and non-active 18-35-year-olds members to develop relationships with peers and encourage their spiritual growth in becoming fully devoted followers in Jesus Christ, thereby creating communities of support;
    • Strategize, implement and oversee evangelism to bring the churched and unchurched young adults into our community;
    • Create, develop, and execute a weekly, theologically/Biblically-based gathering either at church or off-site;
    • Assimilate Young Adult visitors/members into the life of King of Glory Lutheran Church;
    • Provide church-wide visibility and communication to Young Adult ministries through forms of social media, etc.;
    • Work closely with Director for Youth and Family Ministries to establish relationships with King of Glory high school youth prior to their graduations;
    • Work closely with the Director for Adult Ministries to develop young adult life groups;
    • Cultivate Young Adult ministry opportunities in the North Dallas Area with community partners within its immediate service area;
    • Work closely with Lead Pastor.

     Leadership:

    • Ability to think “out of the box” for creating an exciting environment for our young adults;
    • Ability to work independently without close supervision;
    • Ability to recruit, coordinate and direct volunteers;
    • Ability to continually prioritize assignments with a strong sense of time management and work efficiency;
    • Ability to work as a team member who collaborates with all ministries;
    • Ability to work with private and confidential matters;
    • Ability to communicate effectively, timely and efficiently;
    • Ability to work some evenings/weekends, holidays and special events;
    • Flexible, resourceful, and organized.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Demonstrated mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ;
    • Biblical teaching and preaching ability;
    • Some experience working with Young Adults but not required;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong relationship building mindset;
    • Experienced working with and relating to unchurched young adults and outreach activities;
    • Moderate to advanced computer skills to facilitate ministry activities;
    • Social media knowledge for enhancing evangelism awareness.

    Nursery Supervisor                                    

    Position Summary:  The Nursery Supervisor is a part-time position of ten hours per week responsible for developing and implementing a caring and loving spirit and a successful program of nursery childcare within our congregation.

    This person needs to have the gifts of love of children and members and be eager to enlist others with the same gift.

     JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Care for children
    • Supervise Nursery Attendants and Assistants
    • Development and implementation of activities for the children
    • Development and implementation of nursery procedures
    • Management of all facilities and supplies necessary for nursery operation
    • Operation, control and cleanliness of the facilities, furniture and toys
    • Scheduling Nursery Attendants and Assistants

    Principal Accountabilities:

    1. Care for children, help recruit, train, oversee, and evaluate Nursery Attendants

    Sunday Morning Worship Services                8am – 12:30pm

    Wednesday Evening as needed                  5:30pm – 9:30pm

    Other Congregational Events                             As necessary

     

    1. Supervisory
    • Train new Nursery Attendants and Assistants
    • Take calls from Nursery Attendants who are ill or going on vacation
    • Arrange for another attendant when attendant calls in ill
    • Recommend purchase of educational toys
    • Oversee reception and release of children from the nursery
    • Ensure consistent interaction of attendants with the children           
    1. Administrative
    • Maintain adequate and appropriate supplies inventories for activities, snacks and cleaning
    • Report all critical incidents to the Director
    • Review and submit staff time cards

     

    Results sought:

    • Every child and parent feels welcomed, valued, and appreciated, from the time they arrive in the Nursery to the time they leave for home.
    • Trained Nursery Attendants and Assistants

     Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent
    • Submit and pass a background check
    • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
    • Have a love for children that is genuine
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • Warm, outgoing personality
    • A personal sense of mission and of a calling to this ministry
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Preference will be given to candidates with previous childcare experience
